We really enjoyed our last project for a family in Traverse Mountain. The family wanted to continue finishing their basement with a library/billiards room. They chose double pocket doors in between the family room and the new room to make the room feel open, saving the space that swinging doors take up in a room. They also chose a cherry wood for the shelves, and for the trim throughout the room. All in all, great choices by a great family. It looks beautiful, and we were lucky to work with such great people, something else we enjoy in our job. Hopefully, they are enjoying this new addition with family throughout this holiday season.

It's the small things.
In remodeling, and custom designing your home, it's the small things that make the difference.
Look at this baby girl's nursery. A little bead board goes a long way. The shelf adds personality as well, taking this room from an average room, to a completed room. Both were simple, small changes making a big difference.
Pine Canyon Homes enjoys these projects. It may not be building a new house, but it is still making people happy, and helping them Enjoy Their Homes Now!

Meet the Owners
When you build with us, we want you to know us! Pine Canyon Homes began with two brothers, Dan and Nathan McArthur, and here is a little bit on each of the owners.
Dan has been involved in the construction industry for 20 years. He worked his way through high school and college as a painter, framer, insulator, and finish carpenter. He graduated from Brigham Young University in Construction Management in 1994.
After graduation, he worked for Brinkerhoff Custom Classics as an assistant superintendent. This job gave him valuable experience working on high-end custom homes. He then spent 5 years with Pulte Homes, first as a warranty specialist, and then as a superintendent. As the nation’s largest home builder, Pulte provided intensive training in their management and building processes. Dan then spent 6 years with Bach Homes working as a superintendent and then moving into the office to work as the project manager. This gave him the opportunity to work on home design and plan pricing. In 2007, he spent a year working as a superintendent with Ivory homes. At Ivory he was responsible for starting 12 homes a month and taking them through framing stage. This included million dollar homes in Highland.
His extensive work experience led him to start Pine Canyon Homes. As a superintendent, Dan has supervised the construction of over 500 homes. He has participated in the Parade of Homes 4 times. He enjoys the home building industry because he feels a sense of accomplishment seeing homes built and seeing the families’ excitement as they move into their new home. He is confident in his ability to manage home building projects.
When Dan is not building homes, he is spending time with his wife and 5 children. His family enjoys spending time together camping, skiing, and boating.
Nathan has worked in the construction industry for over 10 years. His early experience included working in commercial paving, high-end remodeling, and framing. He set work aside for 2 years to serve an LDS mission in Mexico, and then returned home to finish his schooling.
Nathan graduated from Utah Valley University in 2005 where he majored in Construction Management. After graduation, he went to work for Bach Homes as a superintendent. At Bach he supervised the construction of 10 to 15 homes at a time. In 2007 he managed the construction of town home projects in West Jordan and Saratoga Springs. He then had the opportunity to achieve a goal of his and begin his own home building company. In 2008 he began Pine Canyon Homes with his brother.
Nathan is also a husband, and a father of 3 children. Having a family has given him a desire to not just build houses, but to create homes where families can enjoy spending time together.
